Get to Know Us

We’re more than just a community hub; we’re a growing family of people who believe in the power of culture, connection and compassion.

What we are about

We’re here to uplift. To celebrate culture. To build bridges. To create a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

From sharing meals and dancing to the beat of home, to supporting small businesses and offering help when times are tough, everything we do comes from a place of care, pride, and togetherness.

Who we are

We’re community organisers, parents, artists, students, business owners, and dreamers united by our African heritage and love for community. We come from different countries and walks of life, but we share a common goal: to make Scotland a welcoming, vibrant place for African communities to thrive.

Why we exist

Because representation matters.
Because support should be accessible.
Because culture connects us.
Because no one should feel invisible, alone, or unsupported.

Our Vision

To build a Scotland where African communities are celebrated, connected, and empowered — a place where everyone can thrive, belong, and feel proud of their roots.

We envision a future where African heritage is not only preserved but shared with joy; where families feel supported, individuals feel seen, and the African diaspora flourishes across generations.

Our Mission

At Scot Afrique Hub, our mission is to:

Celebrate African culture through vibrant events, storytelling, food, music, and fashion.

Connect individuals and families, creating safe, welcoming spaces that foster friendship, belonging, and mutual support.

Empower our community with access to resources, skills development, business support, and mental well-being.

Support vulnerable groups, including new arrivals, isolated individuals, parents, jobseekers, and low-income families.

Bridge cultures by promoting understanding, inclusion, and collaboration between African and wider Scottish communities.

We exist to uplift African voices, honour our shared heritage, and make sure that no one feels alone, because when we come together, we all rise.
